about thirty before.

Two twenty-somethings, attempting to do…something.

We can’t complain. We’ve had our share of adventures. Our combined travels have taken us to 4 continents, at least a dozen countries, and who knows how many cities of the world. We’ve completed our undergraduate studies (with honors, thank-you-very-much), and have pursued further education in the form of fellowships and graduate school. At times, we have had our worldview handed to us, in pieces, with no instructions for reassembly.

BUT, now we’re in the real world. And we’re realizing that, when left to our own devices, we slip into the boring routine of the day-to-day. After talking recently, we both felt that there was something holding us back from doing the many things that we wanted to do. Excuses and complacency have become our modi operandi. Our budgets and busyness rule.

You’ve probably been there before, too. It’s that moment where you say, “It would be great to run a marathon.” Or, “I’ve always wanted to travel to every continent.” But, deep down inside, you know that you probably won’t.

And then it hit us: why not? What’s holding back? We were both tired of making excuses for not doing awesome things. After all, you only live once, and we both decided that we’re tired of being “no” people.

So here it is: our virtual commitment to complete thirty awesome things before we hit thirty. This blog is not only a journal of how we get there, but it’s also a promise to the world out there that we’re going to make our twenties the ass kickin-est decade ever known to mankind.

Thanks for joining us. We hope you enjoy the journey!
